Our Firm

Pugh & Company, P.C. was founded in Knoxville in 1969 and quickly grew to the surrounding communities, including all of East Tennessee and surrounding states. As the company has expanded in size and in services, the firm has stayed true to its founding principle of providing exceptional service with the highest level of integrity and professionalism.

In 1998, the firm moved its offices from downtown Knoxville to its current location at the corner of Cedar Bluff Road and Parkside Drive in west Knoxville. This move allowed the company to house all its employees at one location and to provide easier access for our clients to reach us.

In 2006, Pugh & Company, P.C. acquired the Knoxville practice of Cherry, Bekaert & Holland CPAs and added two new officers and eight staff.

2011 brought two big changes. In January, The firm acquired the Knoxville and Oak Ridge practices of Bacon Howard & Company CPAs, adding two officers and eight staff and an office in Oak Ridge. Pugh & Company, PC. also became a member of the McGladrey Alliance, a premier affiliation of independent accounting and consulting firms in the United States, with more than 90 members in 42 states and Puerto Rico. 

The firm is a member of the Private Companies Practice Section (PCPS), the Governmental Audit Quality Center (GAQC) and the Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center (EBPAQC) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB).
