Our Firm

Pugh & Company, P.C. was founded in Knoxville in 1969 and quickly grew to the surrounding communities, including all of East Tennessee and surrounding states. As the company has expanded in size and in services, the firm has stayed true to its founding principle of providing exceptional service with the highest level of integrity and professionalism.

In 1998, the firm moved its offices from downtown Knoxville to its current location at the corner of Cedar Bluff Road and Parkside Drive in west Knoxville. This move allowed the company to house all its employees at one location and to provide easier access for our clients to reach us.

In 2000, Pugh & Company, P.C. joined CPAmerica International, a strategic alliance with Horwath International, the third largest association of independently owned and managed CPA and consulting firms in the world based on annual revenue of member firms. Our membership in CPAmerica allows us to share knowledge and develop best practices with 80 other independent firms representing more than 2,500 CPAs.

In 2006, Pugh & Company, P.C. acquired the Knoxville practice of Cherry, Bekaert & Holland CPAs and added two new officers and eight staff.

The firm is a member of the Private Companies Practice Section (PCPS), the Governmental Audit Quality Center (GAQC) and the Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center (EBPAQC) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
