Classroom dedicated to Will J. Pugh

Will J. Pugh, 1961 graduate of the University of Tennessee and founder of Pugh & Company, P.C. has been honored with the naming of the Will J. Pugh classroom in the new James A. Haslam II Business Building.
Will has tirelessly dedicated his life to improving accounting education and the accounting profession. He has served his profession and the business world in many capacities, including serving on the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy, Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, National Association of State Boards of Accountancy and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has been instrumental in the drafting of legislation for numerous changes to the Tennessee Accountancy Law and improving the professional and ethical standards in the accounting profession that will exist for many generations to come. Will has also served on a number of civic, charitable and non-profit boards.
Will has received two distinguished Service Awards from national accounting organizations and numerous awards from other state and local accounting organizations.
Will’s dedication to future generations is evidenced by his establishment of endowments at the University for student scholarships, faculty awards and professorships. The classroom will give students and faculty the opportunity to learn more about Will and his example of unselfish service to his profession and community.
